until someone came and brought color quietly with her.
They moved through distance and return,
like the moon—never rushed,
always finding its way back to full.
On this day,
light rests on them,
parents nearby,
eyes soft with knowing.
Perhaps this long journey was always leading here
—to standing side by side,
whole, together.
